Mr. Ian O. Barry

Mr. Ian Barry was born in York, England on May 7th, 1940 and received his early education at St. Peter's School, York, England. He obtained his Associate of Institute of Bankers (A.I.B.) in 1967 and Fellow of Associates of Certificate and Corporate Accounts (F.C.C.A.) in 1978.

While at Barclays Bank DCO (1958-1964) Mr. Barry served at numerous branches including: Malton, Selby, York, Manchester, and London, England; Gibraltar; Nassau and Freeport, Bahamas.

In 1964, Mr. Barry was employed at the Grand Bahama Port Authority/Freeport Power as an Accounts Clerk. He was promoted to Financial Controller Freeport Power in 1971 and to Group Financial Controller GBPA Group of Companies in 1985. In 1990 he became Vice President - Finance of the Port Group of Companies and was further promoted to Chief Financial Officer Port Group of Companies in 2000.

He is a member of the Kiwanis Club Lucaya, the Bahamas Air Sea Rescue Association, G.B. Tennis and Squash Club and Freeport Aquatics Club.
