More than 400 senior executives and investors from China’s most powerful, private & state-owned enterprises, along with representatives from countries around the world, were in attendance at The Free Trade Zone & Special Economic Zone Summit held in Shanghai, China.  The Grand Bahama Port Authority, Limited (GBPA) showcased the value of Freeport and competed for Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) opportunities that could be made possible by way of China’s increasing Outbound Direct Investment (ODI).

During a press conference earlier this month, officials at The Grand Bahama Port Authority, Limited (GBPA), announced plans for an E-Business initiative, which aims to equip local businesses with basic tools to expand their customer reach, and increase prospects for greater success.

The time has come once again for us to reflect on the sacrificial death and celebrate the resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ who came to this world and walked among us so that we may have lives that are abundantly blessed.  Along with many Christians in our nation and millions around the world, the board, executives and staff of the Grand Bahama Port Authority joins in such celebrations and wish to extend to all residents of Grand Bahama Island and throughout the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, a Happy Easter.

Parking areas were packed to capacity, as cars lined the streets of the Downtown center this past Thursday. Scores of residents gathered for the historical viewing of the first ‘Downtown Drive-In Movie Night’, a partnership initiative of the Downtown Freeport Business Association (DFBA) and the Invest Grand Bahama Small Business Bureau (IGBSBB).

ABOUT GBPA


The Hawksbill Creek Agreement (HCA) gave GBPA responsibility for the development, administration and management, and provision of services within an area called the 'Port Area' (230 sq. miles). GBPA was mandated by this Agreement to build a deep water harbour, an industrial community and required infrastructure for the City.
