The GBPA has invested significant resources to put in place city services and infrastructure to support a population of 250,000. Grand Bahama Power's utility rates are the lowest in the country. The Grand Bahama Utility Company manages the largest and best drinking water system in The Bahamas.

From homes and infrastructure to schools and amenities, Freeport offers the standard of living expected of a thriving and growing community and commercial centre.

  • The Grand Bahama Development Company (Devco) has developed more than 48,000 land sites over the last 30 years. Current focus is on construction of completed, market-ready developments.
  • The Grand Bahama Development Company is currently showcasing several new communities in Freeport, three of which offer private, gated residences with ocean or canal front properties.
  • Within the Port Area there are 12 high schools and 24 primary schools. The Bahamas offers post-secondary education through college and vocational education; other post-secondary options are readily accessible in the U.S., Canada and the U.K.
