Sir Albert Miller L.V.O., M.B.E., Q.P.M., C.P.M.

Sir Albert Miller Sir Albert Miller was born in Long Island, Bahamas. In 1976, he became President of The Grand Bahama Port Authority and was also appointed Co-Chairman in 1998. In March 2003, Sir Albert retired from GBPA, and was persuaded to return as Chief Executive Officer in June 2006.

Sir Albert joined the Royal Bahamas Police Force in 1943 where he rose to the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police in 1968 and acted as Commissioner of Police on five separate occasions.

Honours & Awards: Member of the British Empire (MBE); Colonial Police Medal (C.P.M.); Queen's Police Medal (Q.P.M.); Lieutenant of the Royal Victorian Order (L.V.O.); Silver Jubilee Award (Business) The Government of Commonwealth of The Bahamas; Business Person of the Year (1998) Bahamas Chamber of Commerce; Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of St. Michael and St. George (K.C.M.G.)

Service Organizations: Past President of the Rotary Club of East Nassau; Past President and Member of Rotary Club of Freeport; Honourary Chairman of Junior Achievement (Grand Bahama); Member of Les Ambassadeurs Club (London Clubs International).

Directorships: Pepsi-Cola (Bahamas) Bottling Company, Limited; Limited; Freeport Oil Company, Limited; Fidelity Merchant Bank & Trust Limited; Chairman- Bahamas Electricity Corporation (1992-1994); Chairman Bahamas Telecommunications Corporation (1994 - 2002).
